What do you have to do in a Freerolls tournament-Part2

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

In many cases, freerolls are awarded to those who have won another tournament, earned a certain amount of frequent player points . When you play in these freeroll tournamfr2ents you will find on a lot of occasions that there could be quite a large amount of people sitting out. When you noticed that you have one of these players on your table, take it as an advantage. If you have not been very active at the table  this can be a worthwhile play to keep your stack at a constant level. Make sure you pick the right timing for this play so you don’t get caught out trying to steal some of  the blinds. As the tournament is in progress, it will be better to you to take advantage of these players, but don’t leave it too late.

After a while, you will notice that the tournament is getting “Serious”.  Many of players left are beginning to play a little more ‘serious’ .That’s the moment when  the freeroll is starting to look like a real poker game. This is the way how many of the insanely loose players have been eliminated faster that they have expected.  This is the part where you can begin to get into your rhythm and practice your poker skills  and make the final table. When you see the dynamics of the tourney change like this you have to change your game accordingly.  Play your game and most importantly do your best to play winning poker.

The last thing:Shoot for the Stars: The one thing which remains is that  freerolls don’t have to be for those people who are looking to win a few dollars. Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson has proved that it is possible to win a large amount of money from diligent bankroll management and correct poker strategy. If you play well, you have a great opportunity to take a big succes.

What do you have to do in a Freerolls tournament-Part1

Friday, January 30th, 2009

When we’re thinking to play Freerolls,  many of us think of competing against thousands of players for very little money in return. Whatever your thoughts are on freerolls, it ‘s important to understand how long they can help you to improve your game.  We will take you through some examples of “why learning to play freerolls is advantageous to yourfr poker game?”.

You can start it learning from people’s mistakes. You will find that most of players that play in the freerolls are terrible, especially in the early stages and when there are a large amount of entries. A lot of players can’t be bothered to make a real effort unless they have a commanding chip stack, after they will play an extremely loose game.

There are some things that you can pick up,things which will help your game and will make easier. You can notice the types of hands that these players are being knocked out with. If you just noticed these things, you could understand the basic concepts of poker game better and get a ‘feel’ for how you should not be playing. If you notice yourself falling into the same trap as many other players, than you can easily adjust your game. You don’t have to make mistakes to improve, use the information you gather as a resource for improving your game.

Another advice is to play tight for the first hour. This is a tactic that almost it’s useful for all players which apply it in freerolls . At the beginning of a freeroll there will be a mass amount of all ins. Players with absolute junk will push all their chips in, in the hope of getting lucky. It is not unusual to see 4-5 players all in, in the first few hands. Many believe that the best way to play these games is to push all in with any two cards . If they lose they can just signup for the next freeroll which usually isn’t too far away. It isn’t too hard to notice these types of players, but it’s simple to play against them. You just have to  wait for a good hand.  The less hands you play in the first hour the less chance you have of getting sucked out on. Keep your best hands to the final, and if you have the chance to win, do it whit style.

Top Online Poker Tells

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Relative to live poker, there are far fewer tells that you can pick up on to find out whether or not your opponent is bluffing. This is for the obvious reason that you are unable to physically see who you are playing against. poker

Long Wait and Check” it’s means this shows that your opponent is weak, because he wants to make you think that he is considering to make a move with his hand when really he wont be holding much at all.

Long Wait and Bet/Raise: this is the opposite of what was mentioned above. This action shows strength, as your opponent wants to make you think they are deliberating a check because they have a weak hand, but in actual fact they are holding a strong hand. If you think about it, if you are holding a monster you will not want to bet quickly and show confidence in your bet, which may scare your opponents out of the pot.

Check/Call, Bet: you are in position, your opponent checks the flop, you bet, opponent calls your bet, and then your opponent bets out a relatively small amount when the turn comes. In this situation you can comfortably put your opponent on a certain basket of hands.

Instant Bet/Check: almost every site will have action tabs that you can select before the action gets to you. This means that you will act instantaneously when it is your turn.

These are the most useful tells that I have been able to pick up on in my time of playing online poker. Obviously as you can see there is not a lot that you can go on apart from the time a player takes to act in deciding what kind of hand they have.

The more you play the more you will understand the logistics of the game and be able to read people by their betting patterns.

How To Cheat At Poker

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

All right, we certainly don’t condone cheating here, but we all know it can happen. The best way to guard against being cheated is to learn how people go about cheating at poker.

Most of the common methods of cheating at poker are due to slight of hand techniques.poker

To facilitate sleight of hand, a special manner of holding the cards is often used called the Mechanic’s Grip. The best way to understand the Mechanic’s Grip is to hold a deck as though you were preparing to deal. Most likely the deck is in the palm of your hand with your four fingers along the long side of the deck and your thumb on the top. When you deal, you use your thumb to push a single card onto the tips of your fingers. Move you index and middle finger to the short side of the deck away from yourself. This is basically the Mechanic’s Grip. Remember just because someone is holding the deck in this fashion doesn’t mean they’re cheating. There are also other grips that can be used to conceal sleight of hand.

Another technique is for the dealer to give himself extra cards. The advantage is obvious and the action is easy to hide if no one is paying close attention. The difficulty in this method is in getting rid of the extra card or cards before the showdown and re-introducing them to the deck.

There are a number of false shuffling methods of cheating. The bottom card can be kept on the bottom and then bottom dealt. The bottom card can also be shuffled to the top of the deck and kept there by second dealing. The shuffle can also keep a number of cards undisturbed at the top of the deck. A player skilled at sleight of hand can also stack the deck in his favor.

One of the simplest forms of cheating is by hand misrepresentation. At the showdown a player claims to have hand that he does not. This may seem easy to catch but cards can be displayed or hidden to make a hand appear to be something it is not.

The best way to guard against the different forms of cheating at poker is to pay attention.

Online Casinos Post Odds on Oscars

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Academy Awards nominations have been announced, and online casinos have been quick to respond by posting betting odds on the various categories. Speculation on favorites changed this week with snubs to movies that were thought to potentially dominate the awards, leaving some choices with poor competition and others without true favorites.

The talk of the week among Hollywood observers is the failure of the Academy to include “The Dark Knight” and its director, Christopher Nolan, among the final five selections for Best Picture or Best Director.wrestling

“Slumdog Millionaire” and its director, Danny Boyle of “Trainspotting” fame, are less than even money to win Best Picture and Best Director, each paying about one dollar on a three-dollar play. Online casino bookies say inclusion of “The Dark Knight” and Nolan would have made these categories far more interesting for gambling purposes.

The online gambling site favors Mickey Rourke to win Best Actor for “The Wrestler”, edging out Sean Penn as homosexual activist Harvey Milk in “Milk.” Kate Winslet is a three-to-four favorite as Best Actress for “The Reader”, but this category offers intriguing alternatives, especially Angelina Jolie for the Clint Eastwood-directed “Changeling”, paying thirteen to one.

No odds are listed for Best Song, just as well as the Academy made one of its most egregious errors by failing to include the soul-searing Bruce Springsteen song for “The Wrestler,” a tune written after an emotional letter from Rourke appealed to the rock icon. Even the film’s director, Darren Aronofsky, has said the song amazed him in its ability to capture the heart of the whole movie in a few minutes of lyrics.

Aggressive poker

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

In the game of poker,  raises  are considered aggressive plays.  In general, opponents must respond to aggressive play by playing more loosely, which offers more opportunities to make mistakes.poker

While it is true that aggressive play is generally superior to normal play in poker , using any play exclusively can lead to predictability, and being too predictable is far worse than being too normal.

If a player is not aggressive with his weaker hands, the opponents can safely fold whenever the player does bet or raise.

On future raises in poker with more traditionally powerful hands, other players must consider the fact that the aggressor’s open or raise is indicative of a strong drawing hand as opposed to a high pair.

It can be very profitable for a player to convince the other players at the table that he is willing to gamble with less than premium cards. The result is larger pots when the aggressive player has tremendously strong hands.

So it’s a very good strategy to play agressive poker.

Bingo Strategy

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

The average number in that population is the average of the entire 75 numbers. Going from 1 to 75, the average number on the bingo board is 38.bingo

The first few numbers called in a bingo game may or may not average 38, but it is certain that as the game progresses the average of the numbers called will steadily approach 38.

When bingo numbers are being called, the entire game is a sampling of the entire population and the larger the sample the closer the numbers will average to 38.

Obviously this fact will play a key role in the strategic selection of bingo cards.

The next time you play bingo, note very carefully an amazing characteristic relating to the first ten numbers flashed on the master board. With very few exceptions, you will note that a preponderance of the numbers have different digit endings.
The average bingo player, putting all the attention on the cards rather than the master board, would tend to overlook this, the most important single characteristic of the first ten numbers called in any bingo game.
Since most regular games last for about ten to twelve calls or less, you will vastly improve your chances of selecting a winning card by concentrating on numbers having different digit endings.
